In October 2022, MECCA M-POWER began its next chapter, building on its work as a social change initiative that calls upon MECCA’s 25-year history of helping people to look, feel, and be their best. M-POWER’s central purpose is to help women and girls to realise their full potential in a world in which a person’s gender doesn’t limit their rights, freedoms, or opportunities in life. 

In 2017 when M-POWER was launched, we focused on secondary education as a critical lever to empower girls. And so far, we have been successful in assisting 10,000 young women in Australia and Sub-Saharan Africa to complete secondary school. 

In 2022, the program was relaunched to be bolder and bigger in line with MECCA's vision to be the world's most-loved beauty destination. Today, we are proud to support a collective of 20 organisations working to advance gender equality through education for girls; women’s economic opportunity and entrepreneurship; women's health, safety, and wellbeing; and through advocacy and policymaking. We also support positive masculinity programs for young men because we know that gender equality is the rising tide that lifts all boats.
