In Zimbabwe and Zambia, we partner with the Campaign for Female Education (CAMFED), a pan-African movement supporting girls to go to school, learn, thrive and become independent and influential leaders in their communities and beyond.

Alongside supporting girls to go to school we’ve also been investing in CAMFED Learner Guides – grads who become mentors and role models to students at their local schools, and provide crucial social support to girls at risk of dropping out. We’re inspired every day by their work to end child marriage in their communities, keep girls in school, and support them to achieve their goals – as small business owners, health workers, teachers, and climate-smart agriculture experts, for example.

“The most important message is that girls’ exclusion from education is solvable. We can do something in this generation to make the world a better place. All the goals we have – improved income for families, gender equality, social justice, climate action – can be achieved through education. That’s the most important area to invest in.”
