Stars Foundation improves health, education and employment outcomes for First Nations girls and young women across Australia.
MECCA M-POWER partners with Stars Foundation to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls and young women to reach their full potential. We help students remain engaged at school, complete Year 12 and to transition into work or further study and build a positive and independent future. Together we are championing gender equity and equal opportunities for First Nations girls, while building confidence and life skills.
Since 2015, Stars Foundation has improved outcomes for First Nations young women by providing evidence-based full time mentoring and engagement programs at primary and secondary schools in Western Australia, Northern Territory, Queensland, Victoria, and South Australia.
The Stars Foundation provides culturally safe and intensive mentoring and a holistic program focused on four pillars which includes: 1) Education + Employment, 2) Wellbeing, 3) Healthy Lifestyles, and 4) Community, Culture + Leadership.
“In 2023, we are making a difference for 2,600+ First Nations girls and young women across 49+ schools throughout Australia. We anticipate this will grow to 4,000 students as we expand into New South Wales by 2025.
The MECCA partnership has been critical to the growth of Stars and is successfully enhancing the lives of First Nations young women.
Stars is proud to work with an Indigenous led Board and growing team of 150, where around 70% are Indigenous Mentors and 92% are working in program facing roles with young women.”
Andrea Goddard, Founder and CEO of Stars Foundation
