YWCA is a 140 year old secular organisation with a long history of supporting young women.
Today, through its innovative and holistic Y25 program, YWCA Aotearoa is supporting a diverse group of 25 high potential young women from across New Zealand to transition into adulthood. YWCA also has a proven track record in achieving policy change, including around gendered pay and the provision of menstrual products, and a respected framework for supporting organisations to embed gender into their strategies and operations.

FAST FACTS
Finding their tribe. The programme brings together 25 like minded young women and non-binary people who are full of ideas and energy who can support each other to change their world
Transitioning to adulthood. The Y25ers range in age from 15 to 25 as this builds tuakana-teina (older-younger) relationships, allowing them to learn from each other
Being seen and heard. Being on the Y25 opens up opportunities to shine a light on different lived experiences – in media, on panels and as spokespeople
Creating role models. Y25 attracts young women and non-binary people from a diverse range of communities, experiences, abilities, orientation and backgrounds
Sustaining passion. The programme offers workshops and facilitated sessions where the Y25 can learn from each other and experts about how to look after themselves, physically, spiritually and mentally
